I am trained in psychodynamic and psychoanalytic  therapy.  I have over twenty years experience in counseling.   We are in this together.  We will indentify together a plan for action - why are you here?  My approach is  to help clients resolve current problems and long-standing patterns. I incorporate a blend of approaches, drawing upon a variety of styles and techniques to incorporate what will be most helpful for each client. With sensitivity and compassion, we work together  to  build on your strengths to identify and achieve life goals.
My graduate degrees are from New York University and The Washington Theological Union.  I served as Director of St. Francis Mental Health Services  West 31st Street in NYC, and in higher education as a Director of Career Counseling.  I have also directed HIV/AIDS programs working with persons living with HIV/AIDS.  I am skilled and thoughtful in organizing our work around clearly identified goals.  I have appeared in New York Magazine,  The BBC News, several appearances on  "In The Life," on PBS,   in the documentary "The Saint of 9/11. "  I have presented at conferences and to general audiences on topics ranging from  HIV/AIDS, bereavement,  religious scrupulosity (OCD),  sexuality and religion,  and aging and mental health.
